The majority of us are being “stuffocated”.
Our stuff is literally taking over our lives and homes, and creating needless chaos and stress every. single. day.
Life at home shouldn’t be like that!
Your home should be a place where you enjoy spending time…
… where you feel relaxed and can be yourself.
… where you can get inspired.
… where you can recharge.
So you may be thinking, “that sounds great…but I don’t have…”
- The Time
- The Budget
- The Space
- The Discipline or knowhow where to start
to get in charge of all my stuff and create the home I want.
I know exactly how you feel. I was in your shoes just a few years ago!
As a working mother, I was completely stressed and overwhelmed when coming home to a place that never seemed to function in a good way.
There were always piles of stuff and toys moving around not really finding their home. I was battling these expanding piles by creating temporary solutions and just moved them around in our house.
Never really dealing with it, just hiding it.
This drove me crazy!
Take my wardrobe as an example.
Yeah, I’m getting personal and exposing myself here… 🙂
Every single I day, I went to my wardrobe and felt like I had nothing to wear!
…or I would be running late, because I couldn’t find my socks, shoes, shirt, etc.
all the time I wasted! My precious time!
Especially in the mornings having to race against the clock, to get the majority of us, including myself, ready and out to school and work..
Or even worse… (BIG confession time here)
I FORGOT that I actually already owned the sweater or dress and ended up buying something similar or a duplicate. :-/
That was money I could have saved or spent on something else!
I felt so frustrated and embarrassed.
(I’m guessing you know exactly what I’m talking about here…)
And then, there’s the guilt and the waste…
when I looked into my daughter’s eyes and wondered how my decisions today will impact her future.
Every time I buy something I’m leaving a footprint behind me.
And the question I asked myself was…
“How big of a footprint do I want to leave?”
I knew, especially after becoming a parent that I wanted to reduce the size of mine.
I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a way that I could get myself more organized making smarter buying decisions so that I could start living more eco-friendly without having to move to a farm or having to spend boatloads of money on stuff I don’t need.
I knew there had to be a solution.
So over the past 5 years, I dedicated myself to finding ways to get more organized at home, feel more relaxed all while becoming more eco-friendly WITHOUT having to become a totally new person and totally giving up my regular lifestyle.
